About This Project

This Brooklyn brownstone was renovated for a family with young children, creating spaces that are both beautiful and practical for everyday family life. The design approach focused on preserving the home's historic character while adapting the layout to suit contemporary living patterns.

The parlor floor was reconfigured to create an open flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, while maintaining distinct zones for each function. Original architectural details, including ornate crown moldings, ceiling medallions, and marble fireplaces, were carefully restored and highlighted as focal points.

The material and color palette balances sophistication with durability, incorporating performance fabrics, washable paints, and hardwearing natural materials throughout. Storage solutions were thoughtfully integrated into the design to accommodate the family's needs while maintaining the home's elegant proportions.
